By 2020, nearly 80% of jobs will require technology skills. But teens from underserved communities often don’t have access to the tech tools and training they need to be prepared for these jobs.
We’re working to solve this problem by:
- Expanding our network of Best Buy Teen Tech Centers nationwide, with more than 60 locations by 2020. These free after school programs help teens develop critical tech skills and prepare for college and careers.
- Providing career pathway programs for older teens, giving them specific training in high-demand tech fields such as cyber-security. These programs culminate in paid internships that provide teens with real-life work experience.
- Expanding grants to hundreds of local and national nonprofit partners to support tech skills training and career exploration programs for underserved teens.
