About Best Buy social impact.

Building brighter futures through technology

By 2020, nearly 80% of jobs will require technology skills. But teens from underserved communities often don’t have access to the tech tools and training they need to be prepared for these jobs.

What are we doing about it?

Best Buy Teen Tech Centers prepare youth from underserved communities for the careers of the future. Teens learn skills in the latest technology, such as robotics and 3D design, music and film production, and virtual and augmented reality creation, in a supportive, collaborative learning environment.

Our Career Pathways programs combine intensive technical and workplace readiness training with paid internships in high-demand fields such as cyber security and digital media to ensure high school-aged teens have the combination of skills, experiences and connections they need to succeed in a career.

Geek Squad Academy is a tech camp we take on the road year-round. Taught by Best Buy employees, the program lights a spark in younger teens, igniting their passion and interest in pursuing tech-related higher education or tech jobs in the years ahead.

National and Community Partner Network. With the support of the Best Buy Foundation, including funding, curricula, and product donations, our network of nonprofit partners are on track to collectively reach hundreds of thousands of youth every year through innovative tech education and career exploration programs.
