ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
BEST BUY BRINGS BENEFITS OF TECHNOLOGY TO TEENS
At Best Buy, giving back to the community is central to how we do business. Together Best Buy and the Best Buy Foundation annually support nonprofit organizations across the United States. The Best Buy Foundation is committed to giving through national grants, community grants, Twin Cities grants and the support of capital campaigns.
Best Buy’s philanthropic efforts focus on programs that provide teens access to opportunities through technology. Through the Best Buy Foundation, we provide teens with places and occasions where they can discover what technology can do and how technology skills can lead to careers. From bringing together Best Buy employee volunteers and teens at Best Buy Teen Tech Centers; to running hands-on, interactive Geek Squad Academy camps for kids ages nine to16; to providing digital literacy training in local nonprofits with Everyone On; Best Buy strives to leverage the local presence of its more than 1,400 stores, its technology resources and its employees to provide new and creative programs to serve communities. Best Buy will double the number of its Teen Tech Centers in 2014, allowing under-served teens in eight major U.S. cities to experiment, collaborate and play with technology, while developing 21st century skills for future success.
