Donate an auction item.

We are now accepting items for the Best Buy Charity Classic’s online auction.

Because of logistical changes due to COVID-19, our process is a little different this year.

Donors will not send their items to the Best Buy Corporate Campus. Instead, donors are responsible for the shipment of the auction item directly to the winner, at the donors’ expense.

Best Buy will provide donors with each auction winner’s name, email and shipping address by Monday, May 24. Donors will be expected to ship out auction items to winners by Friday, May 28, and provide tracking information.

We are accepting item donations through May 7, 2021.

Items submitted after Friday, May 7 are not guaranteed to be included in the auction.

Auction FAQs

When does the auction open?

The auction will open for bidding on Thursday, May 13.

When does the auction close?

The auction will close approximately 30 minutes after the live program ends on Wednesday, May 19.

If I am not able to attend the virtual event on May 19 can I still donate auction items?

Yes, you may donate auction items regardless of whether you plan on watching the live program on May 19.

Will the May 19 program be recorded and made available to watch later?

Yes. You will be sent instructions explaining how to access the recording at a later date. As a reminder, the auction will no longer be open at the time the recording is available.

What is a premier auction item?

A premier auction item is a high-value, unique item or experience that will be highlighted during the event program. Please contact the planning team at charityclassic@bestbuy.com if you have a premier item to donate.

If I donate an auction item, how will I know who wins my item?

A member of the Best Buy Events Team will reach out to you by Monday, May 24, to provide the name, email address and shipping information of your auction item winner.

As an auction item donor, when do I send the item to the winner?

We request you send the auction item as soon as possible after receiving the winner’s information. We expect all items to be sent out by Friday, May 28, unless otherwise discussed with the planning team.

Do I need to provide tracking information after I ship my auction item?

Yes. We request you send the tracking information to the auction item recipient via email and cc charityclassic@bestbuy.com.
